Why You Need to Update Your Site to HTTPS.
In an effort to make the consumer experience safer, Google has made recent changes in their security protocol. Google now prefers any site that collects user data on forms, email and newsletter sign ups, purchases and so forth) use HTTPS instead of HTTP. So what does that mean to you? Plenty.
As you may have heard, Google has made recent changes in their security protocol.
Beginning in October, a “NOT SECURE” warning will pop up with Chrome (version 62), when users enter text in a form such as those used in email and newsletter sign-ups for purchases and so forth on an HTTP page. If you do not update to HTTPS, traffic could decrease on your website, and it could be a negative ranking factor in future Google algorithm ranking updates.
As a service to our clients, Compucast will update your site to HTTPS for a low fee (the price will depend on the size of your site and the cost of the HTTPS certificate). For more information and to schedule an update, please email or call 504-779-5188.
