Join us: Growing Business through Social Media Marketing

Posted on: September 20 2013

When it comes to growing businesses, social media can no longer be ignored. Not only does social media marketing work, but overlooking it can actually hurt your business online. Search engines, like Google for example, take social media into consideration when determining where your business will show up when people search for your products or services.

More important than knowing that social media marketing can work, business owners need to know how social media can work for their individual business. While one company may have a thriving, engaged audience on Facebook, another company might fare better on Instagram or Twitter. It’s all about knowing who your audience is, where they are on the web, and how to reach out to them.

The New Orleans chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners recognizes this, which is why they have put together the panel “Grow Your Business with Social Media Marketing” Sept. 26 at Southern Yacht Club. This panel will focus on topics like how to get the most out of your time spent on social media, the keys to turning social media interactions into real profits and results, and how to stand out from other companies similar to your own

Gina Carr, a nationally-recognized social media expert from Thought Leaders and Business Owners, will speak before the panel. Carr has owned multiple businesses and is the co-author of the book “Klout Matters: How to Engage Customers, Boost Your Digital Influence and Raise Your Klout Score for Success.”

The panel itself is made up of local social media experts, and will focus on how social media marketing can help grow businesses in the New Orleans area. Since Compucast is a leader in this area, NAWBO asked if we would take a place on the panel.

Haley Crum, our Social Media and SEO Specialist, will be sitting in and answering your questions. As a member of the Compucast team, Haley oversees the social media efforts of many New Orleans-based businesses, as well as those of portal sites like ExperienceNewOrleans.com, NewOrleansRestaurants.com and MardiGrasNewOrleans.com. In addition to social marketing, she is also a part of Compucast’s dedicated SEO team.

The event kicks off at 11 a.m. with a thirty minute networking session, followed by lunch and the main programs. Pre-registration is highly recommended, although tickets will be available at the door for a higher price.

This will be a great time to learn more about social media, how to grow your business, and meet other New Orleans professionals looking to do the same.
